When gas springs are no longer needed, they should be disposed of in an environmentally correct manner. To accomplish this, they should be drilled open, the compressed nitrogen gas released and the oil drained, showed as below:
First saw cut/drilling point: Saw or drill the pressure tube open about 20 mm from bottom.
Second saw cut/drilling point: Saw or drill the pressure tube open in the groove.
